Evenflo recently announced the recall of one million of their car seats that have proven to be defective and potentially harmful to consumers.
The child safety seats are risky because they fail to protect children from injuries that could be sustained by side-impacts to the vehicle.
Models Recalled
The seats recalled by Evenflo Discovery, include models 390, 291, 534, 552.
According to reports, these particular models were manufactured between April 2005 and January 29, 2008.
Tests Prove Seats to be Risky
When Evenflo and the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration tested the safety of the car seats they found that upon impact, the seats separated from their base.
Those who own the Discovery seats are encouraged to contact Evenflo to receive a dual-hook fastener, which is being used to secure the seat to its base and prevent injuries from occurring.
