The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Hyundai Motor Co. Ltd. is recalling 36,000 of its 2006 Sonata cars because the front seat belts may interfere with the manual seat back recliner knob.
The federal agency said problems could arise if the seat belt allows an unexpected release of the front seat back recliner, potentially resulting in an injury to passengers.
In a separate vehicle safety action, Ford Motor Co.'s Land Rover said it was recalling 17,263 Land Rover LR3 SUVs to replace potentially defective fuel tanks. Affected models are from the 2005 model year.
