Ford liable for $31 million in Explorer SUV rollover suit

March 3, 2005

A Texas jury found Ford Motor Co. liable for $31 million in a fatal Explorer SUV rollover accident.

The jury found Ford 90 percent responsible for the two 19-year old women who died in the SUV rollover accident, and attributed ten percent of the accident blame on the driver of the SUV.

Ford said it would appeal the verdict, which is the third one against Ford in an Explorer SUV rollover lawsuit.
