Possible Suzuki Motorcycle Electric Failure

May 25, 2006

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration is currently investigating claims that the Suzuki SV1000 motorcycle, model year 2003, can cause sudden and unforeseen electrical failure.

This alleged auto defect has caused engine stall while the motorcycle was in motion in at least five separate instances. One injury accident has been reported in conjunction with this motorcycle defect, though federal investigators have not verified the exact cause of the crash.

Owners who have experienced problems with their Suzuki SV1000 motorcycle report that dealers contend the electric failure is due to a faulty connector that joins the ignition switch to the main harness.

While no recalls or warnings have been issued about this possible motorcycle defect, it is smart to be aware of this possible risk. If you have experienced electric failure with your Suzuki SV1000 motorcycle, you may wish to contact a qualified auto defects attorney who can advise you of your legal rights and options.
